Throughout the Greater Philadelphia Area, we are constantly striving to promote the points of the National Society of Black Engineers’ mission:
To increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.
Through our pre-college initiative, we work with community organizations such as the Dream Academy and directly with students to increase their understanding of and excitement about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We feel that there is no end to what students can achieve with adequate encouragement and direction.
The Delaware Valley is central to the Collegiate “Danger Zone” of the National Society of Black Engineers. Through support and mentoring, the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of NSBE aids in preparing college students for the working world of engineering.
As our alumni members progress through their careers, we feel that it’s important for them to continue to learn and grow as engineers. In today’s society, engineering is at the forefront of many industries and to succeed professionally, one must stay abreast of ongoing advancements and industry trends. As an engineering community, we utilize professional development resources, internal and external networks, and a myriad of skillsets to help our members in every way possible so that they may get the most out of their careers.
The NSBE Mission is embodied in everything that we do and will continue to be the blue print for all of our plans to come.
