Overbrook Educational Center's (OEC) MLK Day of Service provides a unique opportunity for the school and community to come together to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through community service and volunteerism. Community members, partners, as well as OEC students, families, and staff will come together on this day to complete projects that positively impact both OEC and the surrounding community. The day will start with an opening ceremony at 9:00am, three hours of service projects, lunch (provided), and a brief closing ceremony.

To register, please email Ashley Wallace, Ph.D. directly at community@nsbephilly.org by January 14th.

Volunteers will work on various projects such as organizing toiletry items that were collected through a donation drive into bags to be donated to a local shelter, putting together care packages for the homeless, working together to paint a new mural centered around MLK’s themes of kindness and service to others to beautify the halls of OEC, cleaning up the library by collecting and sorting books to be donated, and cleaning and organizing the family resource room.

Please bring and donate items on the MLK DAY Supply List
