The Greater Philadelphia Professionals Chapter was officially chartered in February 1989
Our Mission
The NSBE Philadelphia Professionals Chapter is dedicated to supporting, empowering, and uplifting Black engineers, technologists, and STEM leaders across the Greater Philadelphia region. As part of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), our chapter works to create a community where Black professionals can thrive academically, professionally, and personally.

We host career-focused events such as workshops, certification support, skills training, and corporate engagement opportunities that help members excel in their fields.

Our chapter creates opportunities for Black professionals to connect with one another through mixers, panel discussions, tech talks, and collaborative networking events.

We partner with local universities, NSBE collegiate chapters, and Kâ12 programs to inspire the next generation of Black engineers and innovators.

We take pride in giving back through volunteer initiatives, STEM outreach, service projects, and partnerships with organizations throughout the Philadelphia area.

NSBE Philly has built a powerful legacy of community, leadership, and professional growth in the Greater Philadelphia region.
Delivered impactful professional development workshops, networking events, and career opportunities for Black STEM professionals.
Strengthened the STEM pipeline through mentorship, student support, and outreach to local schools and college chapters.
Expanded our presence through community service projects, partnerships, and regional collaboration.
Represented Philadelphia at NSBE national and regional conferences, increasing visibility and leadership within the organization.
NSBE Philly continues to empower Black engineers and drive meaningful change across our community.
